Extended hours
Residents across North West London now have access to GP and practice nurse appointments from 6:30pm to 8pm (6:30pm to 9pm in Kensington and Chelsea, Queen’s Park and Paddington), Monday to Friday and from 8am to 8pm on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays.
Extended hours are in addition to existing GP services, meaning that residents can now access primary care services seven days a week, through their own GP practice and extended access hubs across North West London. The surgery’s extended hours appointments are aimed at accommodating our patients who are commuters and those who have difficulty attending the surgery in the daytime.
Patients can access these extended access appointments by calling their GP practice to book an appointment or by calling NHS 111 when their own practice is closed. Urgent care centres (UCC) and A&E departments will also be able to direct patients to the service at the weekends, where clinically appropriate. Work is underway to enable UCCs to directly book appointments for people who do not require emergency care.
Hubs
In addition, this surgery is part of the West London GP Federation, a group of practices in the local area that work together to provide evening and weekend appointments.
You must be registered with a member practice, such as this one to access these services.
The practice is part of the West London GP Federation meaning our patients have access to GP led services (this will not be your usual GP) via the extended hours hubs for acute problems only.
This excludes:
- Long-term, ongoing conditions, for example diabetes, asthma, etc.
- Referrals to hospitals and other services
- Investigations including blood test, x-rays, scans
- Repeat prescriptions
Appointments are available Monday to Friday from 6pm to 9pm and during weekends. To access appointments from this service, call your normal surgery and request an extended hours appointment.
The Federation operates extended hours services from two hubs located:
- St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing, Exmoor St, London W10 6DZ
- Violet Melchett Health Centre, 30 Flood Walk, Chelsea, London SW3 5RR
If you need help when we are closed
Ask your pharmacist. Pharmacies can help with a range of common conditions and minor illness/ injuries, such as aches and pains, uncomplicated cystitis, colds and skin rashes. You don’t need an appointment; you can just pop in, so why wait for a consultation with your nurse or doctor. Don’t miss out on this valuable service on your high street. Visit the National Pharmacy Association website for more information.
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
There is always a doctor ‘on-call’ outside surgery times in case of an emergency. If you need a doctor urgently, please ring the surgery on 020 7373 6557 and speak to a receptionist who will contact a doctor. If there are no members of staff in attendance, a recorded message will let you know how to contact the doctor.
Alternatively please phone 020 8969 7777 (available 24 hours, 365 days a year).
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
